Salem and Summerhill units who were working a joint fundraiser were immediately out the door and responding. 9-1-1 advised units that multiple calls were being received and that crews were most likely going to be stretching in. 174 Tanker and PD arrived to confirm a working fire with Chief 2 (Eyer) arriving assuming OIC duties followed by Chief 1 (Dalrymple) who assumed Operations. April 16th 2012 - Personnel saw a busy afternoon with a medical call at 1534hrs on Fowler Ave and continuing well into the evening. By nights end, crews responded to four alarms with the most serious one being a 3 alarm brush fire assist to Nescopeck Township. Crews responded with both Brush units and the Tanker and worked alongside DCNR units for several hours before taking up and going available. While responding to that, a Fire Alarm was received on Salem Blvd but was quickly canceled as proper passcode was received. 174 Engine 1, Rescue, and Tanker closed out the day with a Kitchen Fire in the 500blk of E 4th St.

Crews Keep Busy with Several Runs in Short Period:
April 4 2012 - As the evening was winding down the tones began going off for several runs keeping the volunteers busy as the night began to set in.
The first call to come into the stations was around 2005hrs for a medical assist in the 1200blk of Holly Drive, as the Squad Company was signing on the air, Communications advised units to stand-by as they were receiving calls for a working residential fire in the area of E. 2nd and Spruce Streets in the first due area of East Berwick. Engine 1 and Chief 2 arrived to find a porch fire which had mostly been knocked down and contained by neighbors. Personnel worked for approx 30mins extinguishing remaining fire and checking for extension before going available at 2057hrs.
As personnel were still at the station cleaning up, Salem Brush units were requested to respond at 2124hrs into Union Township along S.R. 239 in the area of Nino's Pizza to assist with a large brush fire. Salem units were once again on the street after dispatch and arrived going to work under Shickshinny Fire Command extinguishing and controlling the fire before finally taking up for the evening and going back in service at 2243hrs.
